A two-alarm fire in Weymouth resulted in one fatality, and a firefighter was injured.
The Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office identified the victim as 40-year-old Bruce Miller, a resident of the apartment building at 150 Mediterranean Drive.
The Weymouth Fire Department says they started getting calls for the fire at 1:50 a.m. on Saturday. Responding crews arrived to find fire showing from the first floor of the six-story building. Crews made a transitional attack and knocked down the fire.
Miller was found inside his apartment. The Norfolk DA’s Office said that Miller had a wheelchair.
Jennifer Meith, a Public Information Officer from the State Fire Marshall’s Office says early investigation points to an accidental cause. Foul play is not suspected at this time.
The injured firefighter was treated and released. The fire remains under investigation.
