Students in Abington will be returning to class with a hybrid model.
Superintendent Peter Schafer says that under this model students will be broken up alphabetically, by last name into two cohorts called “Green” and “Wave”.
These cohorts will have two days of in-person learning and three days of remote learning.
Families with students designated as high needs, will be notified directly by the Abington Public Schools.
Schafer says families that would prefer a fully remote option will be able to move back to hybrid or full in-person at natural break points, November and January, in the coming year.
Those who wish to opt-out of the hybrid model are being asked to notify the school department by Tuesday.
Those wishing to opt-out can fill out a form found here: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=0cp-qSjnl0y5BxOcfl7QwNMU2MVR7_NEn_QD4yZ5hjJUOVZHOFJOTVMwVDIwWVBISUZDRVJNSllYMS4u
