Duxbury: Ten Families Displace Following Two-Alarm Fire
— WATD 95.9 News & Talk Radio, South Shore Massachusetts
Ten families were displaced following a two alarm fire in Duxbury.
Fire Captain Rob Reardon tells WATD News that they received a report of an alarm shortly after 10:30 a.m. Thursday at an apartment complex at 37 Kingstown Way.
While en route crews were informed that smoke was reported coming from the building and the fire eventually reached two alarms.
Mutual aid was provided by nearby communities including Marshfield, Pembroke, Plymouth, Plympton, and Scituate and crews made an aggressive attack to stop the fire and it was knocked down.
Reardon says two firefighters were evaluated on scene for heat exhaustion, but weren’t transported.
The building sustained an estimated $850,000 in damage and is considered uninhabitable.
The cause of that fire is under investigation.
