Hingham: Police Investigating Overnight Break-in

by | Aug 21, 2020 | News

Hingham Police are investigating a recent overnight break-in.

Sgt. Steven Dearth says that around 7:15 a.m. Saturday officers responded to the BP gas station at 4 Whiting St.

The owner said he arrived at work and found two holes had been cut into the roof and the phone lines were not working.

An investigation discovered that the phone lines had been cut on the outside of the building to disable the alarm system and two holes were cut from the roof sometime between 11p.m. – 7:15 a.m.

It’s believed that the suspects then climbed into the office rummaging the inside of the business and taking a small amount of money.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Detective Heather Hermida at 781-741-1443. Tips can also be left anonymously on the Submit-A-Tip link at hpd.org
