The town of Hull is looking to improve their beach for folks with disabilities and reviewed the beach rules for COVID-19.
WATDs David Cedrone has more:
The Hull Beach Management Committee is planning on walking along Nantasket beach in October to make a list of improvements that are needed to make the beach more assessable to people with disabilities.
Hull’s Beach Management Chair Rhoda Kanet tell The South Shore’s Morning News on WATD that the towns elderly population is growing and changes need to be made.
The committee is looking to add more signage, handrails, additional ‘Mobi-Mats,’ those are the blue hard plastic mats you see at beaches used for folks in wheelchairs, and Kanet also says the original design for stairways were put in backwards.
The Hull Beach Management Committee also reviewed beach rules regarding COVID-19, which include wearing a mask and keeping 8-12 feet apart. Rhoda Kanet says she draws a 12-foot circle around her in the sand so others know how much distance to stay away.
