September 1st, voters in the state senate district comprising Brockton and nearby towns will decide which Democratic candidate will go on to the final election – incumbent Mike Brady or challenger Moises Rodrigues. Brady has served in the state senate for five years, previously serving on the Brockton School Committee, City Council, and as one of Brockton’s State Representatives.
Rodrigues emigrated with his family from the Cape Verde Islands, served in the Navy, worked in the administration of former Brockton Mayor James Harrington, served as a Brockton at Large City Councilor and as Interim Mayor following the death of Bill Carpenter. He’s director of the Cape Verdean Association of Brockton.
The district includes the City of Brockton, Halifax, Hanover, Hanson, Plympton, Whitman and portions of Easton and East Bridgewater.
