An investigation is being conducted following a drunken altercation at Marshfield’s Ming Dynasty last week.
A woman became enraged when management of the Ming Dynasty would not serve alcohol to her and others in a group because they seemed intoxicated and were also asked to leave because she was not wearing a mask.
Marshfield Police Chief Phil Tavares says the woman became violent and a male with her was flashing a police badge and continued to escalate the situation.
The man is identified as a Quincy police officer and Tavares says with the current condition of the way some of the public sees police this does not come at a good time and the man should have de-escalated the situation.
The Ming Dynasty declined to file charges against the woman and the Quincy Police Department is investigating the incident in regards to the off-duty officers conduct.
Both the woman and man have been issued a no trespassing notification for the Ming Dynasty property.
