Tyson is a young Rhodesian Ridgeback mix and he’s looking for his forever family!
He’s a big boy who is super active and our friends at the Animal Protection Center of Southeastern MA tell us Tyson needs an experienced home (he would not be a good ‘first dog’ for someone). Tyson loves to play and needs to be given time and a safe place to run and burn energy off- once he’s been able to do that, he’ll settle down and nap until the next energy burst is on him!
He can be reactive toward other dogs walking by, which means he’ll need to live somewhere that doesn’t have a lot of walk-by traffic. His new people will also need to commit to working with a trainer to help resolve this behavior. His adoption fee includes a training class here at the shelter to help his new home get started! He has been able to meet and play with other dogs successfully, but training will be the key to keep him moving in the right direction. Tyson is looking for a home as the only pet.
Tyson needs a home without young children (teenager aged may be ok) because of his tendency to jump up and knock people over.
The shelter is currently open by appointment only. If you are interested in adopting, please call 508-586-2053 Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 1-4pm; Saturday & Sunday: 1-4pm to speak with an adoption counselor about Tyson and how he may fit into your home!
