In Plymouth, 7,300 students will go back to school in a few weeks and families have been informing school officials of their choice of either a hybrid model or a remote learning plan.
Bobbi Clark has more:
Incoming Superintendent of Schools Chris Campbell, says the great majority of families are choosing the hybrid model:
“Approximately 89% of our families are choosing the hybrid model.”
Under the hybrid plan, Monday will be a remote learning day for all students. Half of the students will go to class on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the other half go on Wednesdays and Fridays. But for those families with children kindergarten through 6th grade and choosing the remote model…
“…we will have Plymouth teachers that will be providing remote instruction everyday to those students. So we have approximately 12 percent of our student population in those grades that will be in remote classes.”
For families with students in grades 7 to 12 and choosing remote instruction, Campbell says the administration has partnered with Tecca Academy…
“…approved by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to provide that virtual instruction. We will also have our guidance counselors and Plymouth Public School staff members, teachers, that will be liaisons, working directly with these organizations and our families to make sure that our students are getting the education and support that they need even though they won’t be participating in our particular courses.”
School starts September 16th.
