In Plymouth, over 7,000 students return to school next month under a hybrid model that allows students to attend class on alternating days, but those who choose a remote platform will not be taught by Plymouth teachers, this according a plan approved by the School Committee.

Kimberly Savery, who chairs the School Committee explains how the hybrid plan will work.
“On Mondays, it will be remote during the day for all the students that choose the hybrid plan. But the teachers will actually be in school five days a week. And then on Tuesday and Thursday, one group of students will attend school in person, and on Wednesday and Friday, the other group will attend school in person.”
If parents are not comfortable sending their students to school, they can choose 100% remote learning, but they will not be taught by Plymouth teachers:
“However, it’s going to be a platform that we will purchase into with the state. So, it won’t be their exact teachers but they will still be part of Plymouth Public Schools, but they will be doing an on-line learning platform that is provided to us.”
And what will be provided by the state is not yet clear:
“We don’t have the exact plans yet, but from what I was told from the beginning is, it’s most likely an existing on-line school that already is out there and it is something that they’re working on the specifics to be able to offer statewide.”
Students return to school on September 16th.
