Scituate’s Egypt Beach is a shingle or pebble beach and there are not many left on the planet.
The town recently started a project to replace stones that have washed away from the berm that lines the entire section of the shore line at Egypt Beach and residents were not happy with the size of the stones that were placed on the Mann Hill section.
Scituate resident Dan Whitney says it’s not about having a pretty beach it’s about how the berm will perform during storms and everyone there seemed to agree with him even a resident’s dog.
Scituate resident Kathy Gorman says town officials knew they received the wrong material and continued the project.
Scituate Town Administrator Jim Boudreau sent out a press release that read they are delaying the project for several days and will review the design and will not change the look or accessibility of Egypt Beach.
