Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz says two defendants who filed COVID-19 motions for release have been indicted on gun and drug charges.
Cruz says 44-year-old Michael Idhe of Brockton was indicted last week on Trafficking Methamphetamine, over 200 grams.
Idhe was arrested after a Brockton Police investigation into meth distribution in the city. Police say they found more than 200 grams of the drug, digital scales, and cash at his residence.
He was held on $10,000 cash bail and filed a COVID-19 motion for release in April. Prosecutors opposed the release, and Judge James Sullivan agreed. Idhe appealed to the Supreme Judicial Court and was released on personal recognizance.
Jonathan Laurole, 21, of Brockton, was indicted last week on counts of Unlawful Possession and Possession of a Loaded Firearm. After a traffic stop in March, Brockton Police say they recovered a loaded .38 revolver from his vehicle.
He was held on $20,000 cash bail in that case, and filed a similar motion for release. That was granted by Judge Debra Squires-Lee.
Cruz says Laurole repeatedly violated terms of his release, which resulted in his bail being revoked.
The two men will be arraigned at Brockton Superior Court.
