Meet Heathcliff, a handsome, fluffy 4-year-old who was found stray. He will wind around you in a greeting then settle next to you for a cat nap.
Healthcliff’s favorite things are chin scratches, string toys and catnip. While extremely social, he will communicate his limits so he would be better off with adults or families with older children. He is not fond of other cats or dogs, either. Sadly, Heathcliff has a heart condition known as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy which is a thickening of the heart muscles. Our friends at Quincy Animal Shelter have started him on atenolol, an inexpensive heart medicine, and they are hoping the medicine will do its job and he will live for many years with the disease, as many cats do. We just do not know the end prognosis as only time will tell. But what we do know is Heathcliff is worth taking a chance on as he is just an awesome cat. If you’d like more info about Heathclif or would like to set up a time to meet him please emails adoptions@quincyanimalshelter.org.
