Hanson: Plymouth County Technical Rescue Team Helps Free Horse Stuck in the Mud

Libby the horse is okay after spending a few hours stuck in the mud Tuesday afternoon in Hanson, by the Burrage Pond wildlife area, off of Elm Street.

Hanson Firefighters worked to free the horse with the assistance of the Plymouth County Technical Rescue Team.

The Plymouth County Technical Rescue is made up of firefighters from area towns that are trained in numerous types of difficult rescues, such as people in trenches or horses buried in mud.

They use special tools, some of which their members have designed. 

“Amazing teamwork rescuing Libby a 13-year-old horse who was buried in the mud in Hanson. The #PCTRT has a group of highly trained large animal rescue specialists.”
