Hingham Police say a Scituate man was arrested on repeat drunk driving charges after a daytime traffic stop.
David McLean, 43, was charged with OUI Alcohol (Third Offense), Negligent Operation, Failure to Stop for Police, a Marked Lanes Violation, and a Stop Sign Violation.
Last Thursday, police say an officer was on Free Street after complaints of speeding vehicles.
A vehicle passed the officer going 48 in a 30 MPH zone. The officer activated his lights and siren, but police say the driver failed to pull over.
The vehicle was observed crossing over the center line on Union Street four times, and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersections of Union, Pleasant, and Middle Streets. The vehicle was eventually stopped on Middle Street.
McLean was booked at the police station and was released on personal recognizance. He was set to be arraigned in Hingham District Court.
