Democrat Emmanuel Dockter is challenging incumbent Republican Dave DeCoste for the Massachusetts House Seat, 5th District, serving Hanover, Norwell, and Rockland. In a political forum Monday night in the WATD studios, the subject of the state’s affordable housing law, known as 40B, brought out some differences between them.

Republican Dave DeCoste and Democrat Emmanuel Dockter have each served in the military, served as selectmen, and admit to being detail-obsessed. But they do have differences in personality.

Here’s Dockter.

Here’s DeCoste.

Dave DeCoste and his Democratic challenger Emmanuel Dockter sharply disagreed on therapy focused on re-orienting gay people. DeCoste was asked about his vote against a bill to end the practice in Massachusetts.

Dockter disagreed.

The winner of the November 3rd election will represent Hanover, Norwell, and Rockland in the statehouse.
