The town of Norwell is putting together a Hazardous Mitigation Plan to submit to FEMA.
Here on the South Shore hurricanes can wreak havoc and when they do it’s a cost municipalities do not budget for.
Norwell has submitted a hazardous mitigation plan to FEMA and the final draft has been approved.
Norwell Fire Chief Jeff Simpson told the board Norwell had help from a consultant from the Metropolitan Area Planning Council, and many others helping to create the emergency plan.
Chief Simpson says natural disasters happen and the cost can be overwhelming.
The select board is reviewing the final draft of the hazard mitigation plan and it is scheduled to be approved at next week’s meeting
