** Update ** Rugby has been adopted!
Rugby is ready to move to his forever him!
Rugby is an adult tiger striped male tabby that arrived to the Scituate Animal Shelter after being saved by another animals shelter when he was trapped among a large colony of feral cats. Rugby was instantly friendly and found to not be feral at all!
Rugby is a really great friend to most. This cat loves to hang around his people, enjoys a nice warm sunny spot to lounge in the house and although social, also appreciates time alone. Rugby doesn’t find trouble to get into and is overall quiet. Rugby will make a great new companion to most! Rugby will be a great match for someone who isn’t looking for a playful kitten and would prefer more of a lazy lap cat.
Since Rugby is FeLV+, he can not live with a FeLV- cat. He can however live with another FeLV+ cat and seems to really enjoy other cats! FeLV+ FeLV, or Feline Leukemia Virus, is a virus that attacks the immune system of a cat. It isn’t a form of cancer but is actually a virus that weakens the immune system. Cats with FeLV can live normal, happy lives — they just have a shorter life expectancy than FeLV negative cats.
