An update to a story we reported earlier regarding a man being sought after approaching a girl at a bus stop.
Hingham Police say they received a report on Thursday that a man spoke with the 12-year-old after she got off the school bus shortly after noon on French St. and Manatee Rd.
The man began to follow behind the girl asking her questions about her school.
She turned off Manatee Rd. and the man kept walking on Manatee Rd. and the girl ran home where she locked the doors and called her parents.
Officers responded but weren’t able to locate the man. Police say they have identified the man and met with him.
He lives in the same neighborhood as the girl, and was making conversation as he walked, and did not mean to frighten anyone.
Police say they are satisfied this has been resolved.
