MA: Bill Keating Re-elected to 9th Congressional District Seat

Three contenders are running for the 9th Congressional District Seat, with one winner emerging. 

Democrat and incumbent Bill Keating won another term in office. 

Keating was able to defeat Republican Helen Brady of Plymouth by a vote of 183,270 to 108,427.

 

Keating not only faced a challenge from Brady this time around but also Independent Mike Manley of Brewster, who had 6,650 votes.

 

Keating was first elected in 2010 to represent Massachusetts’s 10th Congressional District. Keating was re-elected to represent the 9th district in 2012 after redistricting.

The 9th congressional district covers a large geographic area that includes:

All of Barnstable County, Dukes County, and Nantucket County.(The Cape and Islands)

in Bristol County:

Acushnet, Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Fall River: Wards 1-3, Ward 6, Precincts A and B in Ward 4, Precincts A and B in Ward 5, New Bedford, and Westport.

in Plymouth County:

Carver, Duxbury, Halifax, Hanover, Hanson, Kingston, Marion, Marshfield, Mattapoisett, Middleborough, Norwell, Pembroke, Plymouth, Plympton, Rochester, Rockland, and Wareham.
