Hundreds faced rain and concerns about the COVID-19 Pandemic as Native American activists and their supporters congregated at Coles Hill in Plymouth for the 50th National Day of Mourning.
WATD’s Ed Perry was on the scene and spoke with Kisha James, the granddaughter of the event’s founder Frank James, who was also known as Wamsutta.
Perry also spoke with Samatha Maltaise, a member of the Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe and an activist with Survival International.
The event is organized by the United American Indians of New England.
