In Plymouth, State Representative Matt Muratore, a Republican, who won re-election to a fourth term serving the 1st Plymouth District, says there are time when it’s difficult to be a Republican:
Bobbi Clark has more:
Representative Muratore comments on the remarkable voter turnout:
“With the historic turnout that we’re having, and in Plymouth we’re looking at probably 80% turnout, we’ve just never seen people come out like this before which is wonderful for a democracy. However, what happens is, as a Republican now, in this day and era it’s a little bit difficult sometimes.”
Why is it difficult?
“It’s difficult to be a Republican because of the divisiveness of that’s actually going on—not blaming one side or the other—but we all have to figure out, once this election is settled, is how we come together—how do we work together as a town, as a state as a country and respect one another, respect one another’s decisions, respect one another opinions.”
And whatever your opinion, Muratore says, you should be able to express it:
“You want Trump or you want Biden, you should be able to talk about it—not be afraid to talk about those things. But, unfortunately, we are where we are and we need to change that.”
