A Quincy woman will spend a year under house arrest after pleading guilty to fraud charges.
The Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office says that 46-year-old Nicole Kasimatis under-reported her income as a licensed social worker and lied about her employment to fraudulently collect benefits from Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA), MassHealth, Social Security, and the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) between August 23, 2006 and April 27, 2018.
In addition she provided falsified pay stubs and other documentation to state and federal agencies to secure benefits.
Kasimatis pleaded guilty in Norfolk Superior Court to fifteen indictments of defrauding public benefits programs and providing false or misleading information and was sentenced her to 36 days in jail (deemed time-served), five years of probation with the first year under home confinement, 200 hours of community service, and she was ordered to pay $103,000 in restitution.
