Just after noon Tuesday, the Cohasset Fire Department responded to a call for multiple vehicles on fire in front of a home.
Assistant Fire Chief John Dockray says there were no injuries reported at 98 Aaron River Road.
“The dispatch center notified us of a report of three vehicles on fire at this address. On our arrival, we found one jeep fully-involved,” said Dockray. “There was extension to another jeep in front of that one.”
Dockray says they were able to keep the fire away from the home.
“They were able to get a third vehicle away from the Jeep that was on fire,” said Dockray.
Operations appeared to be difficult, as the flames kept re-igniting under the initial vehicle. Dockray says a gasoline tank ruptured, and firefighting foam was used to put out the blaze.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
This was described as a “stubborn” fire as the gas tank for the Jeep ruptured. Photo credit: Lenny Rowe.
