The Duxbury Board of Health will handle organizing the COVID-19 Vaccine when it is released and will potentially set up the senior center when the time comes.
WATD’s David Cedrone files this report:
Town manager Rene Read says the town’s health agent Tracy Mayo has been in contact with the state and other towns, like Marshfield, who purchased two industrial freezers to keep the vaccine in, she was told not to purchase any freezers, as the town may not get the vaccine that requires the cold temperature.
The Massachusetts Vaccine Advisory Group has outlined a 3-phase approach on vaccination. Health care workers, police, fire and emergency personal will get it first.
The second phase includes anyone over 65 years old, folks working in grocery, food and agriculture, early education and transit workers.
Phase 3 in will be available between April and June for the general public.
