A Marshfield resident is retiring after nearly 4 decades as a state trooper.
Mass State trooper Sergeant James Connor has served the commonwealth for 36 years and will retire at the end of December.
Today is bittersweet for Sergeant Conner, he is returning the state police vehicle and other items he’s used to keep the public safe.
Connor told The South Shores Morning News he started with the Metro Police until they merged with the state and finished his career at the state house on Beacon Hill.
Trooper Connor says what he will miss the most are the folks he works with.
Trooper Connor says he wants to keep busy and you may see him working part time in a market nearby.
