Plymouth Board of Health Discusses Gov. Baker’s COVID-19 orders.
In Plymouth, Governor Baker’s recent direction that municipalities move back to Phase 3, Step 1 did not greatly affect the town because Plymouth never made the move to Step 2. This was discussed at the Board of Health meeting on Wednesday.
Bobbi Clark has more:
Public Health Director Karen Keene says the Board of Health early on made the decision to stay at Step 1 rather than going forward to Step 2, but…
“…there are still a few changes for Plymouth with this new Governor’s order. One of which is for gyms. In the past, if you went to the gym you could take your mask off if you were more than 14 feet away from the person next to you. That is no longer an option. Your mask is to be worn at all times when you are inside a gym.”
The other change involves going to a restaurant:
“In the past once you were seated at the table, you could remove your mask, that’s no longer an option. Your mask stays on until you are actually served your food and you’re eating or drinking.”
Keene says the skate park continues to be an issue because there’s a group of people who refuse to wear masks:
“We’re going to make one last attempt and we’re going to reach out to the schools to see if we can work together to maybe pinpoint who some of the leaders are at the skate park, so we can reach out to them to see if there’s a way to encourage everyone to wear masks.”
This matter will be taken up at the Select Board meeting this Tuesday.
