Raynham police say a stolen firearm was recovered, and a Middleboro man is facing charges.

Police Chief James Donovan says 21-year-old Robert Perry is facing charges that include Carrying a Firearm without a License, Illegal Possession of Ammunition, and Operating a Vehicle without a License.

An officer was patrolling near Route 44 westbound when he noticed a vehicle driven by Perry. It was found the vehicle had an expired registration.

The officer pulled the vehicle over and discovered that Perry was driving the vehicle despite having a revoked license. Inside the car were two female passengers – one was the owner of the car.

Police say Perry gave them a fake name when he was initially questioned.

A search of the vehicle found a handgun that was reported stolen out of California, and four rounds of ammo.

Perry was arraigned at Taunton District Court. A dangerousness hearing was scheduled for January 6.
