Braintree police say a gun and more than 330 pounds of marijuana were seized after an investigation.
Police Chief Mark Dubois says 29-year-old Jamir Castillo of Roslindale was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute, Unlawful of a Large Capacity Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
He says on Tuesday, members of the drug control unit were conducting surveillance at the Lennox Farms apartment complex. They observed Castillo enter a garage with a vehicle before leaving the complex.
Officers pulled over the vehicle and determined there was probable cause to search it. 14, one-pound bags of marijuana were located in the trunk. A Glock handgun was hidden in a speaker.
Later that day, a search warrant was executed at the apartment where they saw Castillo enter the garage. More than 320 marijuana bags were found in the apartment.
Braintree Police, a member of the DEA, and the Quincy Police assisted with the investigation.
Castillo was scheduled to be arraigned in Quincy District Court.
