The East Bridgewater Board of Health announced the sudden passing of current chairman, Bill Hubert.
He served on the board for nearly 15 years.
Vice-Chairman Myles Heger says Hubert was someone who loved volunteering.
“Bill did it because he enjoyed giving back to the community and he took pride in being involved. Not only was he the Chair for this past year on the Board of Health, and a member since 2006 – he was a bus driver in town when I went to school,” said Heger. “He was involved in the local East Bridgewater Commercial Club. He gave back to the community and I think that’s what he’ll be remembered for.”
Hubert spent his retirement as the School Security Officer at the High School.
“Every kid knew Bill. He was the first they’d see when they walk in the door in the morning. He was an incredible community servant,” said Heger. “That’s exactly what he was. He didn’t do it for his own personal interests, he did it because he loved the town of East Bridgewater.”
The three-member Board of Health will discuss the next steps at a future meeting.
