**Update 1.7.21: Piper has been adopted!!!!
Piper is a 6 year old Australian Cattledog/Blue Heeler who is looking for a fresh start and a very specific new home.
Our friends at Scituate Animal Shelter tell us it may be difficult to find Piper her new home, but we know that perfect home is out there. She is in need of a home without children, men, or small animals. She seems to do well with calm and confident male dogs that are her size and larger.
Piper is extremely fearful of new people and new situations. She shows this fear by growling or snapping. She is definitely a bite risk if she is put in the wrong situation or if someone doesn’t understand her body language.
Piper needs a home with someone who is experienced with fearful dogs and preferably a woman familiar with the breed. Piper knows her basic commands, is house trained, and walks nicely on a leash. If you do not have men, children, or other pets besides a male dog in the home and think you are up for a project, email us for more information on fostering or adopting Piper at adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org.
All dogs are fixed, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated and heartworm/lyme tested before adoption. Adoption fees are $360 for a dog, $460 for a puppy, and $250 for a dog with special needs or senior over 10 years old.
