In Plymouth, County Commission Chairman Greg Hanley Zoomed-in to chair the meeting at the County Administration building last Thursday, because Commissioner Hanley is recovering from the Coronavirus.
Bobbi Clark has more:
County Administrator Frank Basler explains:
“Chairman Hanley had just finished fighting Covid. Thankfully, he is healthy and coming back, but he thought it best to join this meeting via Zoom.”
And a COVID-19 discussion with Dr. Barry Potvin, Chair of the Plymouth Board of Health, was at the top of the agenda…
“…discussed the way the Town of Plymouth and the County of Plymouth can work together to facilitate vaccinations, for COVID.”
Part of this plan could be a county-wide effort to include the Boards of Health in the 27 communities that make up Plymouth County:
“They also discussed a Zoom meeting that they could set up working with all the other chairmen of the Boards of Health within the County to look at best practices and to also look at ways we can work together to improve vaccinations and speed them up.”
Commissioners have been administering Cares Act funding since last April and at their meeting…
“…voted to approve over five hundred thousand dollars of Cares Act reimbursements—that brings the total of Cares Act reimbursements that has been administered by the County to over twenty-four million dollars.”
Basler, says additional help is needed because the team led by Treasurer Tom O’Brien…
“…they’ve been literally working around the clock. We now have to bring in some additional staffing, a part-time administrator and also an additional team member.”
