A Whitman man and who operated a circus school is facing allegations he sexually assaulted a minor.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office says that Whitman Police arrested 43-year-old Steven Santos Thursday at his home.
The arrest came as a result of a several months-long investigation by Whitman Police where it was determined that the assaults took place on four separate occasions, in July and August, 2020.
Santos operated “Simply Circus,” a business in Newton that offers circus coaching and acrobatics training.
The DA’s office says Santos is no longer employed with Simply Circus.
He was arraigned Thursday in Brockton District Court on three counts of Indecent Assault and Battery, 14 or Older, and one count of Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
Santos pleaded not guilty and was held on $7,500 cash bail.
He was also ordered to stay away and have no contact with the victim or their family, and have no contact with any minor children, even with parental consent.
Santos is scheduled to return to court for a pretrial conference on March 19.
