The town of Duxbury is still waiting for roughly 2.7 million dollars in FEMA reimbursement funds for the sea wall replacement project finished in October 2020.
The replacement of the 950-feet section of wall along Ocean Road North was destroyed by the March 2018 storms.
According to Duxbury Director of Finance John Adams a million-dollar seawall grant has helped pay for the project that was approved at the 2018 annual town meeting.
Adams says there are 39 properties on Ocean Road North , Hummock Lane and Gurnet Road that will see betterments between $1,000 and $460 dollars per year for 20 years.
The board of selectmen still have to sign an order of betterment and send to the state’s registry of deeds for approval. The order is scheduled to be complete at the March 8th board of selectmen’s meeting.
