A not guilty plea was entered by a Marshfield woman accused of stabbing her husband to death.
Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz says that 46-year-old Christine Ricci entered the plea on Monday in Plymouth District Court where she is facing one count of Murder.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred Thursday afternoon when Marshfield Police received a 911 call for a report of a medical emergency at a home at 679 Moraine Street.
First responders arrived on scene and performed lifesaving measures before transporting the victim, 51 year-old Michael Ricci, to South Shore Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
It was later reported by emergency room personnel that Michael Ricci had two stab wounds and an investigation then began.
The investigation determined that the Riccis allegedly had a verbal altercation prior to the incident, and Christine Ricci retrieved a five-inch knife and stabbed Michael Ricci.
The DA’s Office says the knife was located at the foot of the victim when first responders arrived at the home.
Ricci’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 1.
