The Plympton Police Department responded to an unusual call this morning.
Patrolman John Simon says about 20 Amazon Packages were located off the roadway near 181 Brook Street.
Simon and Officer Jeffrey Maligno responded to the scene, where they found packages that were intended for Plympton and Kingston addresses.
“Personally, I’ve never seen something like this before,” Simon told WATD.
“We gathered up all the boxes, we called our highway department and had the boxes shipped to our police station,” said Simon. “We started our own investigation, along with Amazon.”
A representative from Amazon responded to the station. Police and the company are working to determine if the boxes were stolen, if there was an unreported accident, or if foul play was involved. About 10 packages were open, the others were unopened.
“What do I recommend is, if an Amazon customer is still looking for a missing or delayed package, to please contact Amazon customer service directly,” said Simon. “Then they can go from the steps there on how to retrieve their package.”
