A tinted window leads to a Bridgewater man’s arrest on drug charges.
Massachusetts State Police say that around 9 a.m. Thursday a trooper was travelling on Oak St. in Brockton when he saw a white Toyota Camry with excessive window tint.
The trooper initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as 25-year-old Lue Andrade.
A short on scene investigation determined that Andrade was in possession of a large amount of individually packaged marijuana with a weight over the legally permissible limit.
He was removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest.
During the arrest the trooper was approached “in close proximity by numerous individuals not involved in the traffic stop” and he towed the vehicle to the Middleboro Barracks while Andrade was transported.
A search of the vehicle uncovered numerous plastic bags containing a substance suspected to be powder cocaine with a combined weight of 393 grams and numerous bags containing a substance suspected to be crack cocaine with a combined weight of 292 grams.
Andrade later posted a $2,500 bail and he was scheduled for arraignment at Brockton District Court on charges of Possession of a Class D Substance with Intent to Distribute; and Illegal Window Tint.
He will also be arraigned at a later date at Wareham District Court on charges of Trafficking in Cocaine (crack cocaine); and Trafficking in Cocaine (powder cocaine).
