The town of Dorking in the UK sits just south of London and has strong ties to the South Shore.

Duxbury Town Manager Rene Read says they are working on a sister city plan with the town of Dorking UK.
Descendants of the Mayflower William Mullins, his wife Alice and daughter Priscilla all left Dorking for the new world centuries ago but their family legacy lives on.
In Dorking the home that the Mullins owned before sailing away for Plymouth still stands and is called Mullins Coffee Shop.
I reached out to the current owners Basil and Susan Doha and they say Dorking has lots of history regarding the Mayflower.
They both came to Plymouth to see for themselves in 2019 and were given a tour by descendants of the Mullin family.
Priscilla Mullins married John Alden, they lived in Plymouth until the late 1630’s then moved north to found the town of Duxbury.
