The Plymouth & Brockton bus will soon be on the road again.
Service on that line has been one of the casualties of the pandemic but the P&B line plans to resume service next month.
Bobbi Clark has more:
Lea Filson of See Plymouth, says resumption of service is a plus for both residents and tourists:
“We represent, of course, not only the Town of Plymouth, but also the County of Plymouth and this is great news because the P&B bus service is going to resume limited service on May, the 14th.”
Commuters depend on the P&B for service as well as those people who need transportation to and from Logan Airport:
“…and that is the route, it goes from Boston, Logan, stopping along the South Shore, ending in Hyannis—and they’ll be doing 3 round trips a day, from Logan to Hyannis and back.”
Filson is expecting an influx of visitors to the area:
“We know there’s going to be a huge pent-up demand of people, just to get out and go places, so I think that ridership today will all be increased—even just because of the visitors.”
And, Filson says, one of the things that will be interesting….
“…about your new bus ride, is, number one, they’re all new busses, brand new—and they’ve got all kinds of news things added to it: advanced safety measures, anti-collision technology, upgraded Wi-fi, a great advanced air purification system, state of the art disinfected cleaning procedures and mandates for wearing masks.”
