In Plymouth, Candidate for Select Board Mike Heath drops out of the race and endorses Select Board candidate Harry Helm.
Bobbi Clark has more:
Mike Heath has lived in Plymouth all his life and is a town employee, having worked for the school department for about four years, and with the water department for three.
Heath decided to run for Selectman because…
“…I feel I identify with the most average medium income residents, so I hoped to achieve some common sense and just bring the overall morale of local government and its workers into a higher place.”
So, you think the workers in the Town of Plymouth have low morale?
“Absolutely, every department: fire department, DPW and the worst, I feel is—I do feel for the police. The police, they got a long uphill battle to get that morale up.”
Heath believes candidate Harry Helm recognizes the problem:
“I believe Mr. Helm has the right idea and sees the dysfunctions that are going on and I think he has the right ideas, experience and tools to bring that forward and try to make improvements.”
And Heath decided to withdraw….
“…because I did not want to split the vote with Harry. I believe that if all my supporters follow me and support Mr. Helm—that he can take the victory and really lead this town to change. This is a very important election.”
The town election is May 15th.
