The Norwell Chamber of Commerce hosted a candidate’s night, this year over a virtual format.
Three candidates are running for two open seats for the Norwell Board of Selectmen — Steve Novick, Andy Reardon, and Peter Smellie.
The candidates were asked about articles at the upcoming Town Meeting – including a citizen’s petition to put town-owned land on Wildcat Lane into conservation.
Reardon served with the Community Housing Trust.
Smellie says he’s in favor of putting the Wildcat land into conservation.
Novick feels that the Wildcat and Carleton properties would be better as conservation land.
The forum included all races on the ballot – including the contested race for School Committee.
Two candidates are running for an open seat on the Norwell School Committee – Kristin McEachern and Erin Reardon.
McEachern has four children in the school system and has served as the Cole School PTO president for the past five years.
Erin Reardon has two children in 6th and 8th grade. She worked as a special education teacher during the pandemic.
