A 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a fatal water incident in Duxbury.
Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz says 19-year-old Jack Callahan, of Duxbury, will be arraigned at Plymouth District Court later today.
Around 2 a.m. this morning, Duxbury Police received a call from a resident reporting that her son came home and made statements “referencing that his father was missing.”
Duxbury police say an Uber dropped a father and son off in the area of Crocker Park and Island Creek Pond.
Police and Fire located a male who was submerged in the pond. Lifesaving measures were performed, and the victim was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth, where he was pronounced dead.
Duxbury police contacted state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, who started an investigation. Callahan was placed under arrest as a result of that investigation.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death of the male victim.
