A 19-year-old Duxbury man is currently held without bail in connection with “a fatal water incident” in Duxbury.
Jack Callahan pleaded not guilty today (Tuesday) in Plymouth District Court, to a murder charge in the death of his father 57-year-old Scott Callahan.
Prosecutors say Duxbury Police responded to call at 2 a.m. yesterday saying that the defendant Jack Callahan was acting erratically and that his father, Scott was missing – in the area of Crocker Park and Island Creek Pond.
Police and Fire found Scott Callahan submerged in Island Creek Pond.
He was transported to BID Hospital Plymouth where he was pronounced dead.
State Police and Duxbury Police investigators say that on Sunday night, father and son were dropped off by an ride-share Driver in the area of island Creek Pond.
A physical altercation took place between the two men and Jack Callahan began to submerge his father under the water several times claiming he was “baptizing” him because he “saw the demon” in his eyes.
Jack Callahan is currently held without bail- his next court date is August 12.
