The Marshfield Fire Department says a man was seriously injured after a boat fell on him at the Ridge Road launch ramp.
Fire Chief Jeff Simpson says they responded to the scene around noon today.
“Multiple people on scene along with Marshfield Fire and Police personnel were able to successfully lift the boat off of the person,” said Simpson.
Simpson says this was a 20-foot Grady-White boat.
“It sounds like it was being loaded into the water,” said Simpson. “Something happened where the boat actually slid off the trailer on top of a person.”
Medflight was requested for the incident but was cancelled due to an extended time of arrival.
The man was transported to South Shore hospital by an Advanced Life Support ambulance.
*An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that the incident took place at the Marshfield Yacht Club. The incident happened at the Ridge Road launch ramp.
