In Pembroke, a debt exclusion override for a community center project and three contested races were on the ballot for the Annual Town Election.
Voters approved a $19 million dollar community center project – with 1,136 “yes” votes and 850 “no” votes.
The project was approved by a clear two-thirds majority during the 2021 Annual Town Meeting.
Spring of 2023 is the estimated opening date for the project, which includes the demolition of the current building.
For Selectmen, Dan Trabucco was re-elected to a 5th term with 1,173 votes. John Brown, Jr. was re-elected with 1,113 votes.
Kairyn Rainer had 712 votes. Thomas Driscoll had 623 votes.
For School Committee, Michael Tropeano was re-elected with 1,380 votes. Susan Bollinger was elected with 1,112 votes. James Quigley had 937 votes.
For Board of Health, Matthew Newman was re-elected with 998 votes. Carly Levy had 819 votes.
Dan Taylor had 62 write-in votes to win a seat on the Planning Board. Heather Tremblay was elected to a one-year term with 1,426 votes.
Ian Campbell had 45 write-in votes to win as DPW Commissioner. Dan Taylor had 21 votes. Gene Fulmine had 17 votes.
There were 2,076 ballots cast in the election.
