In Plymouth, the County Commissioners are taking under advisement whether or not they will administer some of the $5.3 billion dollars the state will receive under the American Rescue Plan Act.
Bobbi Clark has more:
County Administrator Frank Basler says the matter is a priority for the Commissioners:
“The American Rescue Plan Act or ARPA, has been a top priority for the Commissioners. The federal government allocated to the state over five point three billion dollars. Of that, over a hundred and three million dollars was portioned to the Plymouth County area towns ”
Although authorized to do so, Commissioners have not yet voted on whether or not they will administer ARPA funds:
“They are taking it under advisement at this time because the guidance from the federal government continues to change, along with working with the state to find out the best and highest way to bring the most money to the region.”
Meanwhile, the County continues distribution of Cares Act funds:
“Commissioners have approved over forty million dollars of reimbursements to each of the communities for Cares Act. The Treasurer works on making sure that the money gets back to these towns as quickly as possible. We have another twenty-one million dollars that’s in process of being approved and should be out over the next couple of weeks.”
