A Black City Council candidate in Brockton said gallon-sized jugs containing urine with racial and political messages written on them were left by his house.
The jugs were left around the home of Marlon Green, who is running for Ward 1 Councilor.
“This sickening incident is not representative of the entire community of Brockton. I pray that whoever did this, they will see the face of justice,” Green said to WATD. “But I also pray that they will come to a place in their heart and in their mind where they no longer have to do this. That they no longer have to subscribe to this way of thinking, and this way of life.”
The messages on the bottles included the phrases “Biden Piss,” “BLM Sucks,” and “Black Nazi.”
Green, a Democrat, said the incident should be treated as a hate crime. Brockton police are investigating and are asking anyone with information to contact them.
“To do those things and to violate our home, our property, in such a way is out of pure ignorance and pure hate,” said Green.
Green said messages of support have poured in from across the ward, city, and country.
“I will continue to run, with respect, with dignity, and with integrity,” said Green. “I will endeavor to serve my community, to serve Ward 1, to serve the City of Brockton and all the people in the community, irrespective and regardless of who they are and what their affiliations are. I’m going to serve, and I’m going to lead.”
