A cat has died following an early morning fire in West Wareham.
Fire officials says that at 2:17 a.m. Monday they received multiple calls reporting a structure fire at 33 Long Boat Rd.
Wareham Police told firefighters that the home was heavily involved in fire.
Upon arrival, crews made an aggressive attack and the fire was knocked down by 3:02 a.m. with the home sustaining heavy damage and a neighboring home receiving minor damage.
The three adult occupants escaped without injury and another cat, Jasmine, was located hiding and was brought out and administered oxygen.
The Red Cross was contacted to help the family find shelter.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation however officials say it does not appear to be suspicious.
Onset provided mutual aid.
