Officials say it appears the bear dubbed Boo Boo, who has been seen roaming the South Shore, has died.
Marion Larson, with the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife says they have confirmed that the bear involved in a June 24th vehicle collision on Route I-195 in Marion has died from its injuries.
The bear’s remains were found on Tuesday and Larson says they “are confident that this is the same bear which has been seen in a number of towns ranging from Hingham to Marion.”
Larson says an estimated 30 to 40 bears are killed by vehicles every year.
