In Plymouth, the Board of Health continues its work on a short term rental by law. The group discussed the bylaw at their meeting on Wednesday.
Bobbi Clark has more:
Barry Potvin, who chairs the Board of Health talks about the proposed bylaw:
“The purpose of it is really to establish some reassurances that the short term rentals are abiding by all the accepted rules and bylaws of both the state and the town.”
The bylaw was put together by a sub-committee appointed by the Select Board. The membership consists of those who manage short term rentals, and the manager of a motel in town. This group meets regularly with the Director of Public Health and the Board of Health.
“…and what we’re doing is we’re considering suggested changes to the by-law and it’s really a matter of working together to find mutual agreeable wording. So the two things that we really finally gotten down to—which is I think the last changes, involve discussions about the wording for inspections. And also the wording for things involving the actual rental property tax payments.
The Board is working with the sub-committee to have the bylaw on the fall town meeting warrant.
